About us

No, I’m not going to tell my age. I can tell you though, that I have been around a bit and not because of years lived, but because of places lived, and visited, and the many different cultures I was blessed to interact with.
In a nutshell, I learned a thing or two from my upbringing in my German family, but I was born in Argentina, we lived in the United Kingdom, and now we are back in the United States, in the PNW: Oh, blessed rain!

From a big family, some born in Europe, some in Argentina, some in the USA, one can gathered a bit of a blended experience: From an uncle who made cheeses, to another who raised purebred Shorthorn cattle, to the daily work sowing and harvesting. And don’t forget the Argentinean town with a very Spanish name, where everybody spoke . . . German!

The picture to the right is emblematic of the town I am talking about.

Most everything consumed in the household was produced at home. Home gardening is as ingrained in my life as Sauer Kraut and Beethoven! (Yes, I am a musician too, LoL).

I love gardening, mostly we love to eat fresh food, with the less possible chemicals, and we love to can for the year ahead -can and preserve, just as I remember from my childhood- and we love to share with friends and family. We do exchange stuff, and recipes, and take stuff to share with our church family.

God is good, and earth is so bountiful if we treat it well and do our part in the miracle that is growing food out of it.
